Ellie’s not wrong and I agree with her on that. But she needs to recognize that he’s human too. Yes, as a parent, sacrifices need to be made but she was doing the sacrificing FOR him . Not how a marriage works, girl.

I’m glad Sam has pointed it out to her. Ellie did screw up, but Hubbs didn’t abandon them, as he supported them financially. However, Hubbs should have at least wrote if he was convinced not to call, like we just recently discovered. So Hubbs isn’t a dead beat dad, though I do wonder if he would have come home in the off season? I’m looking forward to how this turns out, hoping for some beautiful reconciliation on the field, but either way it’ll be fun right?

I’ll bet you anything that at least one of those envelopes had an explanation note, letter or something, and in her greed, Elle grabbed the cash and threw it away. She’s going to wreck her life and the baby’s and break Hub’s heart for nothing. I hope his 2nd wife is a cute brunette with good sense.

Surely Hubbs explained all in the letter he leaved her, but her air-head didn’t interpreted it in the right way.

And that’s what my main issue with Hubbs leaving like he did. Take it out on her for being overbearing, but not your kid!

I said it before and I’ll say it again.

It says something when a man walks out on his wife and child and the sympathy is with him.

Hubbs didn’t walk out, he was shoved out along with his stuff. Me, I would have divorced her but and got custody.

Dear God… I can just imagine her showing Al to a judge, just like that in Panel Three.

While I’m not happy that Hubbs had to leave the way he did, he really didn’t have a choice. He was being pushed into an abyss-in-a-box. He had to escape, or he would have changed for the worse.

I know how hard it is to look for work, but if you’re in a job you’re not happy in, the money is not worth it.

Not only is he proving his worth as a footballer, but the fact that he is sending money to support his family says a tremendous lot about him. And once he’s led the Diners to Supper Bowl Victory, he’ll have a better chance of facing Ellie with the entire team backing him.

Hopefully…

Ow will displace the Hubbs as the father figure in the house. Hubbs will suffer the alienation of affection and be more like an out-of-town uncle until peer pressure makes it important for Al to have an actual father.
