Sharks I think go for live fast swimming food. But what about the whales that are baleen feeders. The ones that gulp down thousands of micro size shrimp and plankton in a gaping wide mouth?
I recall reading a study (hopefully it was just meant to scare) that showed that by 2050, if we keep going the way we currently are then by weight there will be more plastic rubbish in our oceans than marine life.
I wonder how many individuals that lament the plight of sea life and than go out and buy a plastic bottled drink the next day? They do know that aluminum cans at least recyclable, unlike plastic. In Michigan you have to pay a ten cent deposit on soft drink and beer containers, they should raise it to 20 cents and include all one serving drinks.

There is a childrens book on Amazon called “Glowstone Katie: Katie Helps a Turtle With a Tummy Ache”.
It covers this problem while teaching children the dangers of pollution to ocean dwellers. I bought it for my nephew
If you have children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews, it may be a good book for them to read.

Microparticles of plastic are being ingested even at the bottom of the food chain, affecting its stability.
