The newspaper comes in high definition also when you do this.

A pair of complex-prescription glasses can cost more than a high-definition TV (but you get a wider choice of programming).

It’s better when I take mine off

Adjusting the brightness in the room and the brightness and contrast of the TV to fit. I like to watch TV as if I were in a darkened theatre as a carryover from the time before HDTV. Makes it better for me somehow.

And the sound improves if you put in your hearing aids!

Actually, it means you don’t need to put on your glasses.
