I’m an elderly, white, heterosexual, Christian, Conservative male. The world stands in line to blame me for their real or imagined problems. Meh. Too bad. I would have to value their opinions to be upset by them.
I try to go about my life without intentionally challenging people (like most people do). Some people will get offended no matter what I do, so I try to ignore or avoid those ones… don’t want to waste my time with things I can’t do anything about.
Sadly, nowadays, we have more and more people who are intolerant of anyone who doesn’t think the way they do. Even worse, they want to censor those people, and tend to dehumanize them.
If I’m driving, every time. I tend to do the speed limit on local roads, and go with the flow on highways. Our mayor lowered the speed to 20 on residential streets. Going 20 usually is ok. Occasionally there is one Hot Shot, from those “foreign” countries of MD and VA who feel the need to pass me at a stop sign (while crossing the double yellow line) so they can get to the red traffic signal faster, and possibly run over someone coming out of the parking lot just before the traffic signal.
Seems to be true in my life. If they would just leave me alone they and I could be much happier. Like a sister who at 72 still drunk dials me, and a daughter who accuses me of stuff I know nothing about…

OH yes : ). Independent thinkers and free spirits are frightening for most. Not trendy to be thinking for yourself apparently: too rare these days.

I found p*ssing the bosses off (when you’re unionized) by doing your job correctly is real satisfaction.
