Mom (RIP) never whispered anything. She preferred yelling. So much so that the neighbors always knew what we did “wrong”, especially in the summer when doors were open! Back in the 60s before we had a/c.

That’s a good idea, it should avoid confrontations with interfering busybodys whom would call the police or report you to child welfare authorities for daring to reprimand or punish a very badly behaving child that has driven you to having a nervous breakdown.
