Tessa the Springer Spaniel used to do that. Cat like “train sneezes.” If we suspected a sneeze was imminent, we’d catch her chin with a pillow, hands, or whatever soft that was handy.
Our first dog was sitting close to the back door once and sneezed. He whacked his chops on the door and then kind of ran away a few steps like he scared himself.
Very true, we had one dog who, several times, gave himself a nose bleed smacking his face on the carpet we tried to get a pillow under him but we couldn’t always catch him in time.
I have had several pets, but none had ever had this problem. I did have a cat who would stand under the coffee table and bump his head into its bottom when he sneezed.

This is actually true- our poor lab used to smack her face into the floor when she sneezed hard. Poor thing.

Our kitten literally bounces off the walls, and furniture
He doesn’t even need to sneeze to bonk his head

Wow, there is a canine hazard I never even thought of. I have never seen any of my dogs do a sneeze head slam. Now I’ll be watching.

Our first sheltie would sneeze on command. It was a great party trick, especially when done in combination— Benny, sit down and sneeze.

His head never hit the floor, though. Maybe all that fur was an advantage.

Every dog I’ve ever had would do that.

Being so close to the floor becomes a disadvantage.
