A friend of mine used a word she knew her stupid manager couldn’t know. She told him that she could never reach his level of acephalous thinking. The manager blinked, took in her smile and said thank you, believing that she had given him a compliment.
LOL, reminds me of a pseudo-boss I once had (pseudo because although he had no official direct reports, he treated us like he thought we reported to him). His initials were DS…
We got a new company president who had the exact same name as DS. DS complained that now people were confusing his orders with orders proclaimed by the new president. So I suggested that we call DS “ODS” to differentiate the two (with the O standing for “original”). DS (now ODS) liked that idea, and even crowed about it to anybody within earshot on any given day…
ODS had never heard of the word “odious”, nor realized that he was acting it out…

You keep using that word; I do not think it means what you think it means…

I absolutely refuse to look it up but, apparently, it can replace an f-bomb.

I used to work with a woman who, one day, discovered the word “bailiwick.” She was almost as bad as Rita here.

This cartoon was pestilential. (I kid…I just wanted to use the word in a sentence).

At least Rita didn’t discover the phrase “you know.”

Aside from spreading pestilence, she’s also sprinkling in a lot of BS.
