Last time we were shopping for a car, we checked out a dealer’s website first. They had three cars that we were interested in. The salesweasel gave us the ’Look around" line, I suspect because he had no clue where anything was. We left.
After having my car totaled at the end of June, it took me 2 months to find one I could buy with my insurance money. All theses online car dealers, like the brick & mortar lots, don’t want to sell you a car, they want to sell you a loan.

If there’s anything that will take care of “new car fever” is discussing the cost of said new car!

We were lucky. Got our cars before the pandemic made car buying all crazy.

The last ‘New’ car I bought was a ‘Loaded’ Pontiac TransAm. At that time, in the 1980s, I paid $8700 for it. A similar car today would easily be $50K.
