I may be out of touch, but is the red stapler and some of the comments referring to the movie “Office Space?” I have never seen the movie, but I have seen clips and seen other references.
Had a coworker who gloated that he would have my job… he had less education, no credentials, and little experience – but he was better at office politics than me (especially since he spent most of his day playing office politics, while I worked and had to put out fires he caused)… eventually, the company decided that it needed to reduce staff – and during my exit interview HR told me that they were keeping that coworker as “he is the future of our company”…
He certainly was the future of that company – he was totally incompetent, and helped drag them under. He quit two weeks after I was laid off, because I wasn’t there to fix his mistakes anymore and management was suddenly realizing it… the company managed to hang on for a couple more years before it finally folded…

Well if you would like to be fired, you can have it today and save waiting for it to happen to you.

You’ll get his job sooner than you expected and regret it sooner than you expected.

Sometimes being fired is the best thing that can happen to you. It allows you to move on from a bad company.

Unfortunately Jimbo, someone else will get that job while you’re recovering from your concussion.
