I always grab a cart even if I plan on picking up just one thing. Bad knees, it takes the place of a walker. But I see people like today’s strip stars just about every time I shop.
I will at least let them go ahead of me at the checkout, on the grounds that they’re the ones whose hands are full.
I do this often. You keep thinking, well that’s not big. Add that. That’s not very heavy. Add that. Then you get in a long line and it gets bigger and heavier.
Assuming a quick trip through a market this days is being grossly overoptimistic. What is humiliating is having to put your groceries down on the floor and shuffle along with them after a few minutes waiting in line. Because of “social distancing” the lines are MUCH longer.

I’ve grabbed kind of a lot of stuff from Walgreens (6-8 items) & been asked if I wanted a bag.

I’ve lost count of the people I’ve seen with their arms full of items in a supermarket not using a basket or cart.

My wife and I do the same, intentionally, to keep us from buying too much food we don’t really need.

There should be a small cart and basket stand in the back of the store.

Try a lobotomy. At least then you can say your stupidity is a medical condition

Surprised, then, that he doesn’t send her for a cart…

nope, automatically grab a cart or basket, don’t even think twice about it…

I usually don’t take a basket. I don’t plan for much and this helps establish limits.
