I never thought I’d see the day when people who claim to be “patriots” hate the Lady in the Harbor, but I guess we’re there.

Is it a gaslight?

It’s not a thing you could turn off, except by removing the copper and shiny bits that make up the ‘torch,’ which casts no light of its own.

The New Ozymandias

I met a farer from a far-off strand

Trumpers are still trying to put it out, they want to cancel your vote and take your American rights away.

It’s the populace who’ve dimmed, as they’ve been relentlessly led leftward into darkness.

The Statues meaning has changed over and over dictated by the political and social changes. Rather than read the statues history in detail many people grasp at what is the current most publicized meaning. The Emma Lazarus poem was added in 1883. No matter what the statues original or perceived meaning it stands for American Freedom. And the Abolishment of Tyranny . All people in The United States should say this is my country and I am proud to be apart of this great experience of freedom.

Now there’s a statue the GQP would love to see taken down.
