Foghorn Leghorn was largely based on Kenny Delmar’s Senator Claghorn character on the Fred Allen radio show. Claghorn even got his own spinoff movie, “It’s a Joke, Son!”:

Delmar later specialized in TV cartoon character voices, most notably (to me) Commander McBragg on “Tennessee Tuxedo and His Tales” and The Hunter on “King Leonardo and His Short Subjects.”

The birds are laughing their heads off. Minnie, the heckler, looks pleased.
I trust yesterday’s fly over went well… or was it a bust!

Careful Minnie, I’ve seen Foghorn Leghorn smack that hound on the behind with a 2 × 4.
