My other late dog, a red and blue heeler, caught a squirrel. There was no head left.

It’s time to take up some different pursuits, Rover!

We have a wooded hill behind our apartment building, and our porch/balcony faces it. One time we were having dinner on our porch & we watched a cat chasing a squirrel…then the squirrel turned around & started chasing the cat! That went on, back & forth, for quite a while. We also have chipmunks sharing space, a cardinal sitting next to a bluejay…generally, all of the critters on our hill get along.

A Dog is a dog! That’s how they are wired. Red, what happens when your rocket hits Tweety Bird. Loose the victim talk!

The squirrels in my yard are quite observant. When I bring out our pups one at a time on a leash for a turn around the front yard, a squirrel is always sitting by the front door, in no hurry to leave. She waits until the last moment to dash up the closest tree and watches as the dog barks wildly.

We know Rover would never actually catch his ‘prey’, right?
