One time, when I was a kid, my family went on a trip. One of our stops was George Washington’s Apple Orchard. At one time I was walking through, the weather was perfect, gorgeous, I was enjoying the day…the next thing I knew I was waking up in their infirmary. To this day the smell of apples makes me nauseous.
My 3rd Grade Field Trip was to an Apple Orchard. We got to pick apples and watch the making of Cider. We saw the animals on the farm. And heard a lot of farm sounds: “Cluck Cluck” “Moooo” “Neigh” “Get of that Quackin’ Tractor”
I remember some of my autumn elementary school trips. To a maple syrup farm owned by a classmate’s family. At the end, they’d dribble syrup on a snow bank and we’d all eat maple flavored snowballs.

Looks like a lot of good apple pies and applesauce will be made soon.

The fella at far right will be last back on the bus, with a top-of-the-tree prize still in his teeth.

At that age they need more of a “Shepherd” than a Chaperone.
When they reach Puberty, OTOH …
