Sounds like the frequent dreams I have where I’m between classes and don’t have a clue as to where my next class is supposed to be. I graduated decades ago.
My mother was a Classroom Mother. She went on every bloody field trip. Eventually she was made a Lifetime PTA Member. I hated it then, but I treasure those memories now..
Alas, Petey, My Hero, you can’t have it both ways. Keep on getting lost, or accept the notion of volunteer guides who may include one or both of your parents. Be strong!

Give Ernesto a buzz Petey; if he gets you through the maze, he’s most likely real.

I would insist on something like a crossing guard uniform, the school mascot, or maybe a Hazmat suit. Something really embarrassing.

Make sure, when he is around other students, you call him your little sugar dumpling.

I can’t help wondering how much of what Petey sees is imaginary, like his friend Ernesto.

I just hope that Petey realizes that he has two of the best parents EVER.

I hope Mom is pulling his leg, perhaps hoping that he’ll be motivated to take care of it himself by hook or by crook.
