Don’t the chips on credit cards help prevent ID theft?

This could be a scam. Be careful what you say.

This person may be the one actually trying to steal your identity.

Not to brag or anything, Ahem, but I have not paid intrest charges on a credit card since 1991, and that was because I had charged a large amount on it and split the payments over two months. My credit card companies hate me but i keep getting offers in the mail trying to get me to take out cards that will give me my own money back at the end of the year. What a losing proposition.

What credit-card company would give Como a credit-card in the first place?

Very long ago where there were phone cards, I got a call from my phone company asking if I had started making a lot of international calls? I said no, they said, “then your card number has been stolen. When you phone bill comes let us know which ones are yours and we’ll write off the rest. We will issue you a new number.” The bill when it came, was in a box, it was 4 inches high.

I use a pay as you go card, so if any scammer gets it, he’ll have to put money on it to get anything. It’s handy. On the down side though, I can’t make spur of the moment purchases. On the plus side, I can’t make spur of the moment purchases.

I’m reminded of the man who had his credit cards stolen, but never reported it. When asked why, he replied; “Because who ever stole them spends less than my wife..”.
