I don’t believe Agnes has the nasty-ocity to be mean. Too much kindness has been stuffed into those big feet by Grandma. She’ll have to sit this one out. I doubt Mean Girls Day involved doughnuts anyway.
Agnes’ book should include at least a short explanation of the backstory for all these different days. As for me, a quick bit of googling provided the answer. Glad to see that celebrating it doesn’t actually require people to be mean to each other — we already have enough of that.
I never encountered the “mean girls” things until I was middle-aged and temporarily lived and worked in Dallas (a truly horrible place for women), so I think the whole “mean girl” thing is regional. I will never forget starting a new job and a “girl” in her 40’s came up to me and told me “they” didn’t like and didn’t speak to the “girl” at the next desk — and if I wanted to get along there, I better not speak to her either.
When I was given a special (very nice) computer monitor because of the type of work I was doing, the other “girls” all said it was because (I’ll phrase this more politely than they did) I performed services for someone in IT.
Of course, we know how women in general are viewed in Texas, so I guess that explains it. I could not wait to get far away from there.

So stay out of Brown County today. And beware of little girls with big feet.

When I was in school, EVERY day was “mean girls day”—with me as the victim of their meanness!
I just thank God that was LONG before the Internet.

I don’t think that either Agnes or Trout have the means to be mean.

Agnes idea of being mean would probably be to spout made up words at someone knowing only she understands their meanings
