The nature park where my wife worked received several beautiful sculptures of life-sized wolf faces. She brought one home, and we placed it atop a curio cabinet in the dining room. First time Zach the Springer Spaniel saw it, he went nuts! Ended up keeping the sculpture on the floor for several days for his inspection, then moving it back to the cabinet while he was watching.
Reminds me of the time our first Border Collie, Skye, a real gentledog, was out for a walk with my husband. They came too close to a Canadian goose nest and the male began following my husband, hissing at him. My husband just kept walking but Skye very quietly dropped back and put himself between the goose and my husband, keeping an eye on him till they were out of his range. He’s gone over 20 years and I still miss him.
dogday, I hear you about our dear departed pets/family members. I have had so many over my years. I still love and miss them and have framed photos of them all on my corner picture shelf, dogs and cats.

I wonder what books are so fascinating for pirates to read that they can’t even take a few seconds to find a chair to sit down on?

Admittedly, that was the plan.

My dogs, just like Louie.
They are seriously my security team.
Whenever I get up to go somewhere, anywhere, the security detail accompanies me!
