Have y’all ever seen basset hound races? They’re very cute, with many contestants wandering off to sniff, or ambling along sniffing.

Yes, it is kind of an oxymoron, but low riders can be agile in their own way. Definitely not jumping anything of any significance, though. Going up one side of a teeter totter and going down the other shouldn’t be a problem. You’ll handle it, Fred, with ease. I have faith in you.

you will probably do well in the tunnel Fred! And maybe Basset Agility is like Military Intelligence, makes sense when compared to your peers!

Had one back in the day. He was a blend of Basset and Beagle – we referred to him as a “Bagel”. His name was “Beasley” and his main charms were eating, sleeping, and licking himself for exercise. Not sure why, but I still miss him.

Not to worry, Fred. I’ve had Border Collies most of my life and, contrary to the publicity, most of them would have preferred to politely step around a jump or a tunnel than go over or through. You just be Fred; we like you just that way!
