For some reason, I have a tough time recalling the last name of many people. I had a conversation with my wife yesterday about a certain movie actor, and I couldn’t nail down his last name for several minutes. All I had was Michael…then a blank. Thoughts ran through my head about “Back To The Future”, and Marty McFly, but little else. Putting it on the back burner, I finally hit on the answer. Do you think Jodie Foster is Michael J. Fox’s sister? :)
A while ago I crossed paths with a former coworker and his wife. I recognized her from the picture he had on his desk, and greeted her by name. But it took a while to recognize the old guy she was with, or remember his name. That was rather embarrassing, since we have the same first name.
It’s a well-documented fact that doorways do all kinds of weird things to your memory – most often making you forget what you came into the room to get…
I have “tip of the tongue-itis.” I’ll be working along with a sentence and all of a sudden the next word disappears! Give me ten minutes and it will return, too late for the conversation. Nice to see a guy from Lancaster County got his idea used.

One couple I know, I never have trouble with Ellen, but the guy’s name always escapes me. He’s also a David.

Sure for a while and then even that don’t work anymore and you end up remembering several days later.

I can remember the face, what they did for the past 50 years but not their name.
