Ya know, I don’t really have anything to contribute, but I want to comment here. Why? To establish a sense of permanence. Nearly every comment, every statue, every plaque, and almost everything man made you see in this world is a person, 1000s or 10s of years old, reminding you, I was here, just as you are now. I worked, I played, I loved, I hated. I was you. I may not exist forever, I may be long gone and forgotten, but I made an impact, whether that be helping my fellow man or burning them to the ground. Maybe it’s just a couple displaced atoms in the end, but the universe has been forever changed by me. Credit to this mentality goes to Pearls Before Swine
