Long ago, on a snowy day in Ohio, I found a kitten sitting by the body of her mother along a rural road. I took her home, bathed her in the bathroom sink and dried her with my (then fashionable) bonnet style hair dryer. From then on, associating both with warmth, when she heard me filling the bathtub or using the dryer, she bounded up the steps. I had to restrain Spunk-E Cat from diving into the tub. I also had to watch her when I opened the inside door to the garage as she also loved sitting on the back of the bench style seat of my car and taking rides with me!
We used to vacuum our cat with the tube part. He didn’t move so he must have enjoyed it. In fact he never move when the vacuum cleaner was being used. He certainly ran when the can opener was being used.
I need a hand vac. Anyone want to recommend one for me? My last one was useless and didn’t make the grade when I moved. The one before it was so awesome I wore it out.
I thought she was vacuuming the kitty litter. Ours use to leave trail down the hall after he did his business. The litter stuck to the creases in the pads of his feet. In any case, Ludwig did the right thing running for cover.
The first cat I ever had as a child was a Persian we chose at the local rescue shelter. He was fully grown so how this happened I don’t know, but we discovered he LOVED to be vacuumed. The minute it was turned on he’d lay in the middle of the floor on his back. You couldn’t ignore him that’s for sure.

Close shave. That’s what Ludwig needs.

I like Ludwig looking over couch a Janis. Giving her angry eyes.

Even the hand-held vacuum monster is feared and despised.

Poor Luddy. No wonder his eyes are red.

Ode to a Shedding Cat
I think that I shall never seeA cat that sheds as much as thee.
Thy fur that sticks is all aroundOn chairs, on mats in little mounds.
I sweep the floor,You shed some more.
I wash the rugAnd you just shrug.
You should give thanks I tolerate thatOr you would be a crew-cut cat.

Black pants and cat hair necessitate a preemptive strike.

Are you seriously vacuuming your cat, Jimmy? The only cat I ever met who tolerated that devilish machinery was deaf.

Love the way Jimmy draws Ludwig. Always spot on with cat gestures.

Is Janis left-handed?

I thought it was a scoop for the litter box at first.

I honestly believe the Luddie is more Arlo’s cat than Janis’.

What happened to the theme from last week where Mary Lou was asking Pop about her mom?

I tried to vacuum my cat once. Probably should have turned off the beater brush…..

If that’s one of those dead-battery powered dust busters, Ludwig has nothing to worry about.
