I loved booya as a kid. Every fall, the local merchant’s group would set up big drums and start cooking the stew at the local park. My mother would bring Tupperware containers to buy up enough booya to freeze for the entire week, for maybe a total of $5-10 for a family of 5. Stuff was so good, it was scary.
