And the sad fact is, she is not his mother. I am always extremely attentive to my wife, flowers when she’s not expecting it, little touches that make her life special, but she is not my mother. It is up to her kids to make her mother’s day special. It isn’t always a given though.

It is up to the Father to see that the kids (at least when they are still young) do something to make her Mother’s Day special. (Especially if they are sons, it seems they need a little prodding, even when they are older!) If my husband didn’t do anything, I wouldn’t have any special recognition from my family.

Happy Mothers’ Day ladies!

I dunno, though. I don’t know if mother’s day is about honoring your specific mother, or about honoring those who choose to become mothers.

Nah, if you’ve read Foxtrot for a while, it’s Roger’s thing to give Andy crappy presents. There’s one where he gives her a spatula (for either mother’s day or valentine’s). But it’s never done in quite the same way, so it stays funny.

RRAmom is right cleokaya. Glad you are so loving with your wife. Still, the kids need to have an example to go by when they are young. And wives are the mother of a husband’s children (figuratively, if not always literally.)So, a gift is not out of place.

Is it me, or does it seem that Roger doesn’t care about Andy anymore? Think about it. He always forgets mother’s day, valentine’s day, her birthday, yet he never forgets christmas because of the kids. Sorry. Long Post! tnks 4 reading! :-)

I understand Roger’s desire to save a few pennies, especially considering his status as wage earner, but Andy has a tough job of her own and deserves something nice.
