Our oak leaves generally fall for a long span, from pre-Halloween up past Christmas. This year, so far, it looks like they’re going to all get done by Thanksgiving. We’ll see…
Fall is getting later and later. I know because my pool gets closed the last week of October every year and there has been fewer and fewer leaves to scoop before closing.
I live in Northern California and had read about a month ago that in my area there were hoards of mosquitoes this year – I haven’t seen ANY! Go figure!!
In eastern Nebraska, we have such a variety of trees that we have them in all stages, from green to bare. The Honey Locusts are nearly bare, the plane trees and oaks still green. The soybean harvest is done, or nearly so, and the corn harvest is in full swing.
Frazz15 hrs · Not only did we have mosquitoes in October — and lots of them — we had them while reading reports that the world’s insect population is dropping perilously. It’s all so confusing. I’ll admit that I get impatient with people who can’t be bothered to think. But I also reserve a certain sympathy for those who do try to sort through the rush of information and find it awfully hard. Because it really is.

We had one day of rain, then one day of 90 degree weather, then our apple tree burst into bloom….

Being from Wisconsin I’ll tell you the state bird is the American Robin but the Mosquitos eat them.

Down south most of the leaves here are still on the trees and still green.

Time and seasons have pretty much lost all meaning to me these days.

Grand Rapids, where the cartoon is, probably hasn’t really had fall color change and leaf drop yet, or at least not as much as usual.

The complaint should be about weather, not climate

Leaves aren’t falling around here very much yet.
