I often speak to myself when I do my chores , almost always out load (when I am alone).

It is OK to talk to yourself, it is even OK to answer yourself, but when you talk to yourself and then ask yourself to repeat what you just said because you weren’t paying attention, then you need help.

Talking to yourself is OK!! It’s when you start to argue with yourself and lose that argument, that might be an issue!!

Here’s my gist. It is okay talking to yourself – just don’t do it when there is ANYBODY ELSE in the room with you within earshot!

I stopped talking to myself; I got too many stupid answers. Plus, it annoyed the voices in my head.

Some say that talking o yourself means that you’re crazy. That’s why I sing to myself.

It depends on the subject matter. If you say things like, “Relax, everything will be fine”, “No, you aren’t going to get fired”, “No, you shut up”, then you might need some help. Or one could go the Stuart Smalley route… “I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and doggone it; people like me”, then just relax, everything will be fine.

I was in the breakroom at work ‘thinking out loud’ about some things I had to deal with when I clocked back into work. Another employee came into the breakroom unnoticed by me, overheard me talking to myself and laughingly asked if I was talking to myself? I answered her, Yes I was until she interrupted me, and told her it was rude of her to interrupt a private conversation. She minded her own business after that.

I tried talking to myself but it told me I was boring, to shut up and that it loved someone else. Self left me.

I tell people, you’re lucky, when you get tired of me you can leave. I have to be around myself 24/7 and it gets old fast.

I never get on my nerves. I’m always scintillating and decisive in personal conversation. I’m never boring, owing to the fact that I always the most intelligent one in the room. S/
