In my mind the difference between the two is in the spelling. Bologna would be the lunchmeat, while ‘a load of’ would be baloney. The GC dictionary sees the spelling of both words as acceptable.

Has anyone looked at the price of real beef bologna lately? I get cravings for it once in awhile but I can buy real cold meat at today’s prices!
