It's difficult in times like these. Ideals, dreams and cherished hopes rise within us...only to be crushed by grim reality. It's a wonder I haven't abandoned all my ideals, they seem so absurd and impractical. Yet I cling to them because I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are truly good at heart. I simply can't build my hopes on a foundation of confusion, misery, and death. I hear the approaching thunder that, one day, will destroy us too. I feel the suffering of millions. All people think they are good. The problem is that they also believe others to be evil.
Not a single person has believed that what they are doing is bad. It’s always the others.

I thought many years ago when man orbited the moon and viewed Earth Rise that we were going to make it better. We crawled and scraped. Many promising…some dying. Today it seems we’ve made no progress….but I still hold out. One day….just maybe…..we’ll see us all as one.
