This is the second strip I’ve seen in which Rover uses the tag line for the 1979 movie “Alien”. It seems to be anachronistic as many strips date the timeline to the late 1960s and early ‘70s. One recent example of this was the Rip Van Winkle story arc in which Red felt he’d woken up many years in the future and complained “Now I’ll never know if they caught the one armed man in The Fugitive!” As one commentator pointed out, this dated the year to 1967 at the latest.
When I saw “Alien” there was a mom w/ 2 lil kids sitting 3 rows up front; when the creature erupted from the guy’s belly ( blood & guts); Holy hell broke loose! The lady & kids started screaming…then she grabbed the kids leaving auditorium; loudly saying: “ I didn’t pay to see this kind of Sh*t!”Honestly I found it kinda of funny ..because that movie definitely wasn’t for children. ๏̯̃๏
Poor Red. Some days are like that. It is great he has such a friend to stand by and just be there for him. With friends like Rover things will always get better.

I would get home that way and lay down. The cat would wrap herself around my head and purr. Most soothing.
