spud is a half empty glass type of guy, wallace is a half full glass type of guy and im a “who the funk drank half of my glass when im home alone?” type of guy
Such nice artwork. A question for creator Will Henry if/when he sees this post. Once you have the idea for a strip in mind, how long does it take on average to draw it (understanding there may be differences between dailies and the Sunday strip as well)?
I have a very good UK-made umbrella guaranteed not to invert in a 40 mph wind. I eventually realized that it would probably dislocate my shoulder before it inverted. So, maybe not such a great specification. :)
They will never catch it. If it comes back to you, it’s yours. If it doesn’t, it was never yours to begin with.
Later, somewhere in France, a little boy discovers a red umbrella floating along the shore. It begins to follow him home, and thus another movie is made.
I’ve been informed that his parents were fans of a certain banjo playin’ actor (RIP). Gulls have been maligned as feathered rat scavengers for too long. His folks were on their honeymoon and flew over a drive-in theater and saw a handsome actor play the title character in the movie, King Rat. Their gull lineage was traced back to Great Britain and its European Herring Gull. This noble bird was thought to be the mystery winged spirit on the crest of King George I. Nobility, resourcefulness and a wicked sense of humour were traits they wanted for their egg and with love and a giggle Wallace’s spiritual protector and partner in time and time again was dubbed George Seagull. source: Wickedcoolpedia

The seagull does a good eyeroll. Now, back to study the composition.

There’s always something to do, if you complain hard enough.

There’s not enough rain in the world to dampen Wallace’s spirits!

Leave it to Wallace to make his own fun. Now, the game is afoot.

Love watching the storms that roll in out of the north Pacific. But I watch them from inside.

Wallace always finds a silver lining.

Send out your feathered drone to spot the red umbrella tumbling through the muddy landscape on a grey day. Loving the art. I can feel the damp chill.

Second day with Wallace’s hair wet. Takes a rainstorm to flatten his cowlick.

That’s why I quit watching the nightly news. Like Spud, but metaphorically, I do not want to succumb to the elements!
scyphi26 about 3 years ago
Hey, you can really only blame yourself, Spud, seeing you were the one who was complaining.

I am surprised Wallace wasn’t outside attempting to “Mary Poppins” himself with the umbrella!

Love that Gully and Wallace are “merry-eyed” bookends to Spud in Panel one :-)

Damn, if that doesn’t look like a lot of fun. I will sit back and enjoy it from the comfort of my chair.
