Verne, what about super volcanoes? And hurricanes increasing in numbers and strength?

I’m pretty worried about the arctic circle and the impending doom of the earth.

It would be nice if a more of those worriers in the world would be a little more like Verne – instead of trying to make sure that everyone else worries as much as they do.

Considering the coordination required to stave off any of the 1500 known asteroids and comets that cross Earth orbit, I’d say that the best we can expect is someone to give us a heads-up when the occasional one comes our way. Most of them burn down to little rocks or dust grains when they strike our atmosphere. You see them as shooting stars.

Worrying is to problem solving what chewing gum is to nutrition.— Janine Urbaniak Reed

Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its trouble. It empties today of its strength. —Corrie Ten Boom

Worry is a cycle of inefficient thoughts whirling around a center of fear.—Corrie Ten Boom

There is nothing that feels better and accomplishes less than worrying! The brain enjoys a good worry because it gives us the feeling that we are doing something, despite all evidence to the contrary. Worrying is not only unhelpful but also tends to spiral in on itself, creating more problems we cannot solve.—Megan Leahy

Ain’t no use worrying; ain’t nothin’ gonna turn out alright. —my dad

Hollywood may tell us otherwise, but there’s nothing we can do if/when that happens.

But that won’t keep me from caring for others and future generations.

I’d expect George to worry the most.

My younger sister is a Verne. She worries for both of us, and some other people too!

Really? I didn’t see anything on the news. They were probably too busy bashing Trump and Republicans.

the question isn’t “should i worry about that”, it’s “can we do anything about that”.

Assuming we discover it hitting us, can we stop it? If the answer is no, then why worry.
