@Number Three Today’s strip IS funny but a variation of a theme , our HERO Mr Andrew Capp’s stress is being left in :o) my avatar again is my birth sign Leo roaring because he,s in a good mood like I am , how was your day? our Finally Friday should be slightly busy but we will cope I hope, we both are in a good mood no shopping todo or errands to run, just stay in the house hydrated till this evening when I will have my fav nosh Keep safe and thanks for caring young Lady
Good thing our Andy doesn’t live in Florida. Falling in the canals around where I used to live, could prove fatal. Lots of big gators, who’d love a pickled Limey for lunch!
I had to go into town today and it was a nice time out. The sun was shining and it wasn’t even cold. I stopped off at the library before I went home.
I plan to make a trip to the city (Newcastle) on the 27th because an event I used to enjoy going to is now back on after all this COVID garbage. It falls on the Saturday I would be going to my Auntie’s but I’ll just tell her. I’m sure she won’t mind. I can’t wait. It’s been nearly 2 years since I’ve travelled up there.
I’m not sure if you knew but Facebook is changing it’s name to “Meta” I know you don’t have a Smartphone but when I opened the Facebook Messenger app it had “By Meta” underneath. So it’s slowly starting to creep in.
Stay safe, stay well and stay happy, pal. Enjoy your favourite nosh and see you after the weekend.
@Calvinist1966 It may be Guy Fawkes Night where you live and people set off fireworks and bonfires in celebration and commemoration but in my barrio, they don’t need any special day to set off fireworks … they do it all the time – day or night – for any excuse ( or sometimes just for the helluva it! ) but they do reserve the bonfires for New Year’s Eve or demonstrations. There’s times when I think I’m living in a war zone.

Ah, but there’s a bright side: you never lose your hat, do you, Andy.

this variation of falling in the creek routine always makes me glad that Andy Capp doesn’t wear a hearing aid as he would have gone through so many

No chance, Andy. Have to keep those uniforms clean.

Tonight is Bonfire Night here in the UK. It is also known as Fireworks Night or Guy Fawkes Night.
“Remember, Remember,
The Fifth of November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot,
I see no reason.
Why gunpowder treason,
Should ever be forgot."

He’d rather savor the moment.

If it wasn’t for the sobering effects of a dip in a cold canal, Andy probably wouldn’t make it home most nights, err mornings.

There are quite a few police officers who seem to think they are comedians. Haha.
