Actually not a bad idea if I did this I wouldn’t have wasted half a decade on LOST what a stupid plot line and ending .

So many series are like that, or the network cancels them without giving the viewers an ending. It’s very frustrating.

My wife has to know if a movie has a happy ending before she’ll watch it.

I sort of wish I’d done that for Game of Thrones.

Dexter and The Sopranos waited a few years and relaunched to explain bad series conclusions.

What you really need to do is wait until there are a couple of seasons “in the can”. Too often I have invested time in a series with a cliffhanger end-of-season episode, only to find that it was not renewed. I do also like a “happy ending” guarantee on movies. At least one would expect the principal character to survive. “The Perfect Storm” got me involved with a bunch of characters, then left me with nothing but a bad, salty taste in my mouth afterward.

If only I’d thought of this prior to investing in some HBO series!

Eww no! It’s the journey that sometimes turns out be better than the destination.

Yes, if you want to play the short game, that is totally the way to do it for ‘How I Met Your Mother.’ Although that series finale was the worst and I do mean the worst.

My ex-wife was an opera fanatic and would even go so far as to watch a presentation of the opera we were going to a week beforehand. She could not stand movies because you had to sit through them. And I refused to divulge anything about the plot. The surprise, the unfolding, is all part of the experience. Present wife has drawn posters based on movies for art classes she has taken and taught.

I can’t do that! Fortunately I can usually tell how well I will like a series by the first episode; second on at the latest. And yeah, I hated the ending of the Game of Thrones, but I really enjoyed the series up until then. … Dammit!
