When Matt published this on his Facebook page, one commentator was thrilled that the fox was signing. They’d never seen that before in a comic strip.

A lot of what gets me to jump are the sudden noises. I wonder how different the experience is if you don’t hear those?

Rabbit has enough scream volume for both of them. There have been several strips with Rabbit and Fox either signing or with Rabbit writing notes too.

I thought the (good?) scream was about the startle of finding they are suddenly holding hands?

This strip is just so much fun. :)

Everything is better when you have a reliable friend to watch your back! I love the friendship between Rabbit and Fox, starting way back with the efforts Rabbit made to communicate. The strip showing the early attempt at ASL (American Sign Language) was so funny … and it reminded me of some of my efforts in German (I once asked for a cow-herd instead of a screwdriver)!

I’d have to hold and snuggle Kiwi, no matter the threat.

In the previous panel, Fox isn’t panicking and Rabbit is realizing Kiwi isn’t a threat, so I think Rabbit’s AAAAH in the final panel is Rabbit trying not to disappoint Kiwi. I mean, look at Fox’s smile in that last panel.

Looks to me like Rabbit is yelling for Fox.

I really adore their friendship.
