Which way is the cheap gifts store?

Women are easy to buy for – think precious metal, precious gems, chocolate, day spa and other gift certificates… Men, on the other hand, are the most particular when it comes to anything – think gadgetry, tech, automotive, tools…

Been there. Done that.

I always seem to know what to get my wife. After she orders it, she thanks me for the thoughtful gift and then tells me what I bought.

And be kind to the retail clerks. It’s not their fault you waited until Mary’s water broke to do your shopping!

Very funny ‘toon!

Bought mom a mop once when I was a kid. She needed it, the old one was a mess. I’ll never forget the look on the sales lady’s face when I wanted it gift wrapped.

“The gift you are looking for is somewhere vaguely over there.”

Knee-high boots from The Bay Company. Saw them in the store in Victoria in September. Wrapped and under the tree. And other stuff.

And this stupid map isn’t helping.

Another appropriate message would “You are lost, in thought of what to buy her”.

Dam Straight! I was there a few times in the past1

I worked in a mall for 9 years. Right next to the mall floor plan, there was a kiosk which sold gift certificates – just for guys like that.
