(cue graphic of a yarn ball vaguely patterned like the Earth – or some sort of M-class planet – that, while indistinct, is definitely spinning the wrong way)
I don’t understand the surprise and indignation about Kit being in jail. I mean he looks like a shifty type with that eye patch and all. Definitely a “usual suspect”.
Pucky, it’s a soap. They’re going to beat around the bush for all they can, then reveal that (shock) Bandit the Magician is the father. Or maybe the story’ll be better written than that, since Georgia is a better storyteller than most of the folks in charge at the soaps.
…Yes, I tend to have an Elvis-like view of soap operas…
All this time and they still haven’t said who the father is? If I watched soap operas or cared about this one, I’d be outraged!
(And that’s pretty low, having Bandit arrest his own brother!)
(Not that I know who Bandit . . . er, that cat on the TV . . . is or who his brother . . . I mean, or why it’s such a big deal that he had to arrest him.)
Now it sounds like I know what I’m talking about. But I don’t.
Wait, I mean about this soap . . . I don’t know what . . .
Never mind. Disregard all the previous entry. This is actually just an announcement that the Grumbling Room is open. All non soap opera types welcome. (Especially if you bring snacks. I have some fresh baked homemade pretzels.)
For anyone who might have missed it, Georgia posted an update and Lupin is HOME! He came home last night. He was at Blue Pearl and they’re pretty amazing, at least by us, sounds like they are by Georgia as well. I read the update on FB, but I imagine it’s on her other social channels as well although I’m only on FB, but he’s HOME! So happy to read that.
O.k. I have a confession that I have been keeping a secret for a long time. You folks have shown yourselves to be compassionate and supportive of people when they open up to personal matters. While I’m kind of embarrassed to admit this, I know I can get it off my chest here without too harsh a judgement from the community.
(Deep breath) Me. I’m the one. I framed Kit for reasons I really can’t get into here and now, but I do have good reason and I know Kit is durable and can handle himself.
I like these soap opera arcs! They remind me of my Mom and Grandmother who were big “Days of Our Lives” fans and also watched “The Edge of Night” and “Search for Tomorrow”. My Grandma used to watch her soaps with ladies from her church sewing circle, they rotated between their homes day to day it seemed, and lets just says that a lot of their comments directed towards the villains in the soaps were quite colorful and probably could not be repeated in many places, especially church. I think that any villain would not stand a chance against those ladies if he/she were to bump into them on the street! Good memories from the ’70s and ’80s. I miss those ladies and of course my Mom and Grandma Hannah.
New Lupin photo today captioned “at home and resting”. Sleeping Lupin pinning down Georgia’s arm in his usual favorite spot on their bed. Keep getting better Lupin!
Anyone figured out what Bandit is holding in his right hand? I have blown it up to fuzzy pixel size and my best guess is a cat face shaped mask…but why?
For all newbies, you can find the original Our IX Lives on the BCN website. Click on Past Reports and scroll down or http://www.breakingcatnews.com/comic/todays-episode-of-our-ix-lives/ That takes you to the very first one. Those who don’t like the soaps should know that we, the faithful readers are to blame. Georgia showed a scene where Burt had been watching Our IX Lives. So many demanded to see it that a few months later, she gave us a strip as a Valentine’s gift. And that was so well received that months later she gave us a series!
She just posted a few minutes ago, he is up and about sitting in an open window. So many of us praying and thinking about the boy. He looks really good.

Our favorite soap! I want to hear more about those telekinetic kittens……

Well I think I can guess a few BCN fans will now be taking a short break from following the comic. Especially a certain bloke from down under.

Right. I’m off to the Grumbling room. I have absolutely no interest in this at all. None.

I’ve often thought we will be in big trouble when cats evolve opposable thumbs but telekinetic kittens would be even greater trouble.

I’m off to my recliner for a nap. I don’t do soap operas. I’m queasy anyway and waiting for my new meds to get to the pharmacy.

If you’re looking for logic, soap operas are the last place to find em.

Heard in a local Texas laundry room…
Me: Lupin in the ER, I can’t believe it!
Hubby: Believe it!, he needed help breathing!
Me: WHY would such a happy cat get sick??
Hubby: I still need to know how the new adopted kitty is fitting in.
Both of us: Get out of the way, Zeus, Dateline is starting!

If this follows the typical soap opera time warp, she’ll be Grandma Paisley since the kittens will be adults with kittens of their own.
