The reason is the presence of an old mother-in-law in his house.

If I woke from a nap and saw THAT looking at me, I’d be grumpy, too.

Brutus should Just turn over and go back to sleep.

That has never happened to me. I don’t own a recliner. But I have gotten up on the wrong side of the couch at times.

Mother Gargoyle, a face that could sink a thousand ships!!

There are some things you don’t want to see when you open your eyes. Mother Gargle is on of those “things”.

Mother Gargoyle (sic) is afraid of losing her Reason for Living.

I feel grumpy after my nap… dog won’t stay still, tried playing a game and fell asleep for two plus hours, family keeps talking although it’s my little brothers voice that annoys, the dog wants outside after the naps over and he makes it impossible to ignore him… where was I going with this?

And he thought it was only a nightmare.

Those two stick together like peanut butter and jelly. Poor Brutus.

Brutus has a great amiable personality and attitude. Two of his many great qualities. Maybe the answer to your inquiry is in the mirror……..

I did that once. Not easy.

It’s hard to believe that woman raised such a nice daughter.

Naps usually make me feel groggy and out of sorts so I avoid them if possible. On the other hand, my husband enjoys his daily nap. To each their own. And they say that if one naps for too long, it isn’t helpful. There is a certain amount of time to nap that they say is ideal, so maybe Brutus napped for too long.

Actually I find this rather refreshing because it is the first time Mother Gargle has shown anything close to concern for Brutus’s wellbeing.

She probably hasn’t noticed, but he tends to be that way when she’s around.

Brutus woke up when Mother Gargle walked into the house. Although he was asleep he could sense something was wrong.
