So, he wears a bathrobe getting out of the shower, but generally doesn’t wear anything at all?

It just fits the scene, like when he wears his paraphernalia when he goes up to fight the Red Baron, or the scout outfit when marching with Woodstock’s Crew out into the wilderness for a campout.
