Liz is right. She’s not a control freak, she’s having to make big adjustments as do her parents. It is NOT easy having three generations in a house. I grew up with my parents, siblings and my Granny. She was Mama’s mother, and Daddy was amazing to have had her live with them at the start of their married life and all through till she had to go into a care home when my parents couldn’t lift her if she fell.
They made it work. It worked for many families for many years. The reason it doesn’t work smoothly here is that it’s a COMIC. Personally, I think the artist leans too hard on making Liz seem like the bad guy as she tries to adjust. Perhaps she’s afraid if she let’s them take over, that she’ll be a little girl in her own house, instead of a married adult woman with a child.
Yeah, I know, a long post for a comic. It just really annoys me that people like making the daughter the butt of jokes and calling her a control freak! Sarah already has tried to totally take over her kitchen. That alone would set me off :P
