They should take him at his word, and not give him one. No pressents, no cake, NADA… and when he comments, the just look shocked, and say, ‘But you said you didn’t Want one!’ See if he gives up the phony-martyr game after that.
Why do people do this? Lie and say they want nothing for a gift hoping their loved ones will do just the opposite of what they say. And feel hurt when they take you at your word.
