I definitely knew better than to complain of boredom to my parents. They always could come up with something for me to do. I did that once and wound up painting and reroofing the little pump house, in the middle of August in east Texas. It was so hot and humid… sheesh.

I don’t recall ever saying or thinking I was bored. I always managed to find something to entertain myself with.
