I suspect my late MIL was critical of me, because I heard enough bad-mouthing from her about her other sons-in-law.
My MIL hated my guts for 40 years. Then I retired and was given the job of taking her to all of her appointments. We got to be such good friends….I miss her terribly.
I was privileged to have a wonderful MIL. Too bad my wife’s MIL ( my mother) wasn’t the same to her.
Manipulative Mother. IDK I’ve never been a mother, so I don’t really understand the POV of a mother or a MiL.
