Most financial advisors will warn parents against using money they need for their retirements to support their kids in college. The kids will have many years to deal with the cost, while the parents aren’t in a good position to earn what they need to support themselves in old age.

There’s always the GI bill, earn while you learn, but kids don’t want to get up early and cut their hair.
