Boy, how old is this cartoon? I haven’t heard the use of “Bruce” to insinuate sexual preference in a hell of a long time. In face, I’d totally forgotten it until this comic brought back the memory.
It was back in the late 60’s, early 70’s that the name “Bruce” meant “effeminate” or “gay”. No idea how it happened, but it was a fairly common punchline back then, at least on TV.
