The cats somehow wre able to lift and move the floor register cover and went exploring. They came out a bit dirty but after a day of exploring we had the cleanest duckwork in town. It became their playground and they loved it. I had to be careful to not replace the cover until all were accounted for before company came. Didn’t want them to step into the unvoered opening, and have to explain the thumping to company.Mittens, you should invite Fiona over for an afternoon of exploring and making thumping noises.
“Plush” toys that are covered in artificial, rather than natural, fabrics don’t smell good to a cat until they have been “mellowed” under a piece of furniture for a few days to accumulate eau de house dust and fur. The ones with catnip inside lose their allure very rapidly. Best to get one with a resealable pocket for fresh catnip. Toys do, however, lose a lot of their “fancy” after being gnawed and claw-kicked frequently.

Mitty is probably the cause of some of the mess.

Uh, Mittens, remember the one you’re insulting is the one who feeds you.

Our cats hide under the sofa when we run the vacuum.
