Why is Hurricane Hattie complaining?? The summer solstice occurs during their summer vacation!!

What would be the point? School hours would still be the same.

Not the shortest day. Still 24 hours. Shortest amount of daylight day between sunrise & sunset.

Well the good news is they should also be out for the longest day of the year.

Whenever something bad gets you down, just remember the yin yang. For somebody else in the world it is good fortune today. For the people down south of the Equator it is the longest day of the year and the shortest night. And they call it the summer solstice. That’s when summer officially begins!

The kid’s looking at it backwards. If it were a school day, she’d spend daylight in class and not get to enjoy the day at all.

I wonder if it bothers the winter solstice that, when they take pictures of the year, they ALWAYS have to stand in front.

Its always a school day here (except on the weekend).

I recently watched a movie where it was 6AM the week before Christmas in a Northern state and the sun was up and bright. Um, no. I’m in a Southern state and the sun isn’t up until around 7:30.

She’s right, you know. Let’s make the Christmas break start on the 23rd of December instead and start back up on Jan 3, 2022

Personally, I’d like shorter periods of daylight to be in the summer, when it’s 90+ degrees in the sun.

Sometimes it’s hard to decide which of those two is the most intellectually challenged.

Is some little girl here risking growing up to be a born loser too? Hopefully not, unless she gets her own cartoon.

And it only rains on weekends and holidays, or when you wash and wax your car.

Here it’s neither the latest sunrise or earliest sunset though is shortest day – earliest sunset was about 10 days ago, latest sunrise is in about 10 days

Every day of winter is a day closer to spring.

Hurricane Hattie still nailed it. She sees the downside in everything. In a child like way.
