Big Fat Hairy Deal.

I thought it was a lockout not a lockdown.

Now that’s what I call team spirit.

I love coming to this strip: I hear about things I would never have otherwise.

Yawn. If the games keep getting longer (playoff game averages have gone from 2 hr, 30 min to 3 hr, 40 minutes since 1970) maybe at least we’ll have a shorter season.

Billionaires fighting millionaires. Who do you root for?

Note to Major League Baseball:

1) Basketball and hockey now extend into June.

2) Americans are taking an interest in sports outside their borders.

3) There are streaming services that provide new programming in the warmer months.

4) There are more blockbuster movies per summer than there were when I was a kid.

In short: you no longer have a near-monopoly on summertime. You might want to start acting like it.

As phoenixnyc posted, MLB & MLBPA better watch out! If the fans ever wise up, they are doomed.The Great Apathy is a real threat – I have been to one game in the last 5 years, after breathing baseball for decades.

And this is why I don’t pay much attention to sports. A bunch of overpaid prima donna athletes whining about their working conditions. The owners aren’t any better.
