Yep, the same clowns that went bats**** at Colin Kaepernick are REAL quiet when it comes to the various sports leagues going belly up when it comes to China.
Nary a peep from Le Fraud James. Same from the august commissioner of the N.B.A. His only contribution was to chastise/fine Darryl Morey(?) when he criticized the Chinese government. This is arguably your finest moment, Mr. Hinds. Take a bow and know that your former partner in this strip is smiling down his love and appreciation from Heaven for what you continue to do.
Kudos to the WTA. But their situation is a bit different. It’s one of their actual players who is under [what? we don’t really know, but it likely isn’t good!]. Plus, some of the legends who were instrumental in founding the WTA are still alive, still with name recognition, and likely to be still noisy — it’s not hard to imagine what Billie Jean King would be saying.
Here’s the difference. Tennis, especially women’s tennis in a country that doesn’t treat women all that well, hasn’t been that big for that long, and more importantly, they don’t have a TV right deal with China. That deal alone makes the NBA filthy rich, which given they have a hard salary cap with strict revenue sharing, makes NBA players a lot more money, is why they pander to China. Also, you have jersey sales in the non-tennis sports. Even if you only sell a jersey to 10% of the Chinese, that’s a hell of a lot of people. Amazing that the people who rabidly scream “You can’t tax the rich!!! They’re special people!!! And Capitalism is perfect. Greed is good.” are the same ones demanding sports leagues throw tens of billions of dollars away while they’re happily buying all the cheap Chinese goods (and iPhones) they can possibly get their hands on. You wouldn’t think it’s because they’re black athletes, would you? Nah, that can’t possibly be it.

Good one Mr Hinds! Where is the IOC? Stuck to the bottom of the WTA player’s tennis shoe or busy putting substantial coin into offshore banks?

Can’t top this. Maybe Enes Kanter should learn to play tennis so he can compete with athletes who have some integrity.

Heck compare the WTA to our own government. The WTA stands several feet taller than even the US government!

I applaud the WTA. Our government could take a lesson here.

Still, though, kudos to the WTA.

Good one Bill! And some people think sports is just entertainment.
