Don’t know of anyone in my neighborhood that ordered those. About the closest any of us got to x-ray vision was the movie “The Man with The X-Ray Eyes”, 1963. Could tell the marketing was aimed at Jr. High and Early HS boys, and boys alone, or maybe Men who were still mentally at the younger level. Big advantage was supposed to be seeing through women’s outer clothing. By the time I reached Jr./Sr. years in H.S. Special Skills or equipment were no longer needed for that task. Seeing through the clothing was commonly possible whether you wanted to or not.

I still have a number of older comics. I was looking through a Fantastic Four book recently and ran across a full page ad for “We’re Only In It For The Money” by the Mothers Of Invention.
