Well actually this isn’t without precedence, Ancient Roman gladiatorial games sold lead slabs with curses on them that spectators could use on gladiators they didn’t like.

Ellie is being extra-selfish, cursing Hubbs isn’t just bad for him, he has a whole team and legions of fans depending on him. Maybe Ellie will learn her lesson when she finds out she’s harming the goose laying her golden eggs.
